FAQs

Do I have to take all my clothes off? Not at all. You should undress to your level of comfort. Many clients remove all clothing, while others prefer to leave their underwear on. Once you are on the massage table, you will be completely covered by a sheet and blanket at all times. I only uncover the specific body part currently being worked on, so your privacy and modesty are fully protected throughout the entire session.

How often should I book a session? Frequency depends entirely on your personal goals, lifestyle, and health needs:

  • For chronic pain, injury recovery, or high stress: Weekly or bi-weekly sessions are recommended initially to achieve lasting relief.

  • For ongoing stress management and maintenance: Once or twice a month works well to keep tension from building back up.

  • For general relaxation and wellness: A monthly visit is a great way to support overall well-being.

During your first appointment, we can discuss a customized treatment plan that fits your schedule and budget.

Are tips expected? Tipping is always appreciated for great service, but it is never required or expected. Your presence and continued support of my practice are what matter most. If you do choose to leave a tip, standard industry practice ranges from 15% to 20%, but please never feel pressured to do so.

What should I expect during my first visit? Please arrive about 5–10 minutes early to complete a short health intake form and sign waivers. We will spend a few minutes discussing your health history, areas of pain or tension, and what you hope to achieve from the session. I will then step out of the room to let you disrobe to your comfort level and get onto the table under the top sheet.

Will the massage hurt? Massage should feel like "good work," not painful. While deep tissue work or releasing tight knots can sometimes create mild discomfort, it should never feel sharp, agonizing, or unbearable. I encourage open communication—please let me know at any point if the pressure needs to be lighter or deeper.

What if I feel uncomfortable, cold, or need to use the restroom during the session? Your comfort and safety are my top priorities. Please speak up if you need the room temperature adjusted, a warmer blanket, a change in music volume, or a restroom break. You are always in control of your session.

How might I feel after my massage, and what should I do? It is common to feel deeply relaxed, lightheaded, or slightly tender in areas that received targeted deep work. To get the most out of your session:

  • Drink plenty of water throughout the day to stay hydrated.

  • Take it easy for the rest of the day—avoid strenuous workouts or heavy lifting if possible.

  • Apply a warm compress or take a warm Epsom salt bath if you experience minor muscle soreness.
